Nominate it to our awards program! Computerworld and Computerworld’s BI and Analytics Perspectives conference are seeking IT user-organization case study submissions in the following categories for their Best Practices in BI and Analytics Awards Program:
Running the Business on BI
Nominations in this category use predictive analytics to pinpoint opportunities and have enabled broad information access and delivery for strategic decision-making.
Driving Process Change with BI
Nominations in this category have used BI to streamline business processes and achieve operational efficiencies.
Integrating BI Across the Organization
Nominations in this category use Web 2.0 data streams or tools, self-service portals, analytics and/or open source tools to drive insights across a wide range of data stores and applications.
Improving Results through Cloud-Based BI
Nominations in this category demonstrate successful applications of cloud or software-as-a-service-based BI solutions to achieve more measurable business value, better return and/or faster deployment than on-premise alternatives.
Eligibility
Eligible nominees are exclusively IT end-user organizations and will be accepted from IT users themselves, their public relations representatives, or vendors on behalf of their customers. Nominations will be accepted from the same organization in more than one category, but the nominations must describe different projects.

The deadline for receipt of submissions via this online process is 11:00pm (EST), Friday, August 20, 2010. Three finalists will be chosen in each category and honored at Computerworld’s BI and Analytics Perspectives conference, taking place September 19-21, 2010, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. Award recipients will be recognized on the conference Web site (www.biperspectives.com), in an event press release, and may be featured in a special Computerworld supplement.
Judging Criteria
Judges will evaluate and rank the finalists in each category using the following criteria:
- How well the nomination demonstrates excellence in the nominated category.
- Strategic importance to the business.
- Positive impact on other business/organization units.
- Substantial customer impact involving service, retention and/or acquisition.
- Strategic advantage to the business/organization that also anticipates and accommodates future BI and analytics initiatives.
- Financial return and measurable payback via revenue opportunities and/or cost savings.
- Effective management of data, information, application security, etc.
Recognition
- Award recipients will be announced in an issue of Computerworld and may be profiled in a Computerworld Custom Supplement.
- Award recipients will be entitled to use the awards program logo and promote their achievement on their corporate Web site and in their company collateral.
- All nominated and qualified IT end-users will be invited with a complimentary registration to attend Computerworld’s BI and Analytics Perspectives conference taking place September 19-21, 2010, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.
