Patricia Alnor is currently Program Manager of Financial Business Intelligence for Technology and Management International (TAMI). Her current team develops and administers the Cognos solution for US Army ARDEC. She has been a consultant to US Army ARDEC for 19 years. Over the course of her career, she has designed, developed and implemented a variety of financial, budgeting and reporting applications. For the last twelve years, Patricia has been a key advocate of the Cognos solution for financial reporting.

Scott BeanScott Bean, Senior Manager for Information Systems, Amgen
For the last five years Scott has lead Amgen’s Enterprise Reporting and Analytics Center of Excellence. During that time, the organization drove platform standardization and promoted BI maturity through a host of competency center services.

When he started, Amgen had 27 different reporting tools in use. Today, more than 200 business intelligence applications are hosted on a single Enterprise BI Platform. More than 10,000 users across the globe use this platform.

Prior to Amgen, Scott worked for Zurich Financial’s Farmers Insurance Group where he was responsible for implementing the company’s first claims data warehouse. This solution provided reporting and analytics across all lines of business and helped enable Farmer’s new “HelpPoint” Claims Service.

Prior to this, Scott was president and founder of Century Solutions, a systems integration business which provided technology planning, custom software development and IT support to non-profit organizations in Washington DC.

He is a graduate of California Lutheran University.

On Saturday (Sept 28th) Scott will join over 200 others for a 525 mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise awareness and funds for the National Arthritis Foundation.

Becky BriggsBecky Briggs, Senior Manager, Data Steward, Airlines Reporting Corporation
Becky has 24 years experience in Data Processing/IT, the last 8 years in DW/BI implementations, Product Development, and DW Infrastructure Management. She has been at Airlines Reporting Corporation for the last 17 years with past responsibilities including leading the strategic infrastructure team responsible for DW provisioning including data modeling, quality, integrity and referential integrity. Her team was responsible for BI development as well as BI tool administration of the environment. Current responsibilities include Business Line BI Sponsor, sitting on the Data & Analytics Business Line leadership team responsible for defining, developing and delivering accurate and timely products that are highly valued by our customers generating a positive financial return and tangible benefits to our stakeholders. In addition, she is also the data steward for ARC's Industry Data Warehouse, managing sensitive data, access management and security.

Stephen BrobstStephen Brobst, Chief Technology Officer, Teradata
Stephen Brobst is the Chief Technology Officer for NCR's Teradata Division. His specialization is in the design and construction of data warehouse solutions for Fortune 500 companies in the United States and internationally. Stephen performed his graduate work in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where his Masters and PhD research focused on high-performance parallel processing. He also completed an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management. Stephen has authored numerous books and articles related to advanced data management techniques. Stephen has been on the faculty of The Data Warehousing Institute since 1996 and teaches courses related to Real-Time Data Warehousing and High Performance Data Warehouse Design.

Don CampbellDon Campbell, VP, Platform Strategy and Technology, Cognos Corporation
As Vice President of Platform Strategy and Technology, Don Campbell oversees the company’s technology adoption strategy and its application within the Cognos platform today and tomorrow. He leads the charge on leading-edge technologies such as unstructured data analysis, location intelligence, search, and wireless information delivery in a performance management context.

Don Campbell has over 25 years of high tech experience, 20 of which have been with Cognos. He has held various roles from research to software development to management, and has led the creation of several award-winning products. He sits on various industry technology boards and advisory committees.

His message of technology, performance management, and entrepreneurism has taken him around the globe, speaking to over 45,000 people in 16 countries. In 2005, he was awarded with the International Business Award for Best Product Development or Engineering Executive. In addition, he has authored several published articles, a weekly technology column, and hosts an informative and entertaining technology podcast. Mr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada.

Matt CinceraMatt Cincera, Senior Vice President, Service Delivery, Enterprise Information and Analytics, Bank of America
Matt Cincera is Senior Vice President, Service Delivery Executive within the Enterprise Information and Analytics at Bank of America. He is located in Charlotte, North Carolina and is responsible for enterprise warehouse services supporting Bank of America’s Consumer & Small Business and Global Wealth and Investment Management segments.

Matt Cincera joined Bank of America in March 2004, and has held numerous leadership positions including the deployment of a single enterprise employee portal, and support of key marketing and privacy systems for the bank.

Prior to joining the bank, Cincera was Manager, Internet Solutions at Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector in Phoenix, Arizona (now Freescale Semiconductor). In that capacity he was responsible for development and operational support of the division’s Internet website serving tens of thousands of engineers and external business partners. Other leadership assignments at Motorola included support of global final manufacturing systems, customer relationship management, business-to-business transactions and product marketing.

Cincera graduated from the University of Wisconsin where he majored in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis in Computer Engineering.

Jon FarrarJon Farrar, Vice President, Predictive Modeling Department, Union Bank of California
Jon has been involved in the banking industry since 1977 with experience in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, and in a variety of industry segments. Jon joined Union Bank of California in 1995 to introduce scoring technology and to facilitate its cultural changes. Jon’s department is now the bank’s solution provider for Credit Risk research, analytics, and model development.

Jon has presented at various industry conferences that include Fair Isaac, FITech, Experian, Computerworld, and other Business Intelligence and Data Mining conferences. Jon has served on the Industry Advisory councils for both Experian and Equifax and also holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.

Tracy FarrellTracy Farrell, Senior Director, Strategic Projects, Conservation International
Tracy Farrell works on institution wide strategic planning and program development for the office of the Chief Officer of Programs and Sciences. She has been working for the past 6 years in conservation program development and management, and has also led projects in integrating business intelligence and working closely with IT teams to create integrated systems to report against institutional performance. She has a strong academic background and training in natural resource management, with a PhD from Virginia Tech in Forestry.

Jim Foote Jim Foote Vice President Field Technologies and Technical Services, ADP Dealer Services
Jim Foote is Vice president of Field Technologies and Technical Services for ADP Dealer Services, the $1.2 billion business unit of ADP Inc. In his role Jim is responsible for all field technologies including all call center technology and infrastructure, work force mobility, WEB self service portal, and developed tools and technology that improve customer satisfaction while reducing operational expenses. Jim's team has spent the last three years developing and implementing ADP's Online Reporting Business Intelligence Technology (ORBIT). The ORBIT system has provided a 360 degree view of ADP's customers and has become an important tool in the operational and strategic decision making process.

Jim has spent over 20 years with ADP. He has held a number of technical, operational, R&D and executive roles. Jim's team has received several industry awards for his accomplishments in support and service technologies and was selected as Computerworld Premier 100 IT leaders for 2007.

Robert Fort Robert Fort, Chief Information Officer, Virgin Entertainment Group
Robert Fort is an internationally recognized and awarded business leader and innovator with over 25 years of progressive information technology experience. He’s championed and implemented some of the earliest and most successful ERP, business intelligence, retail kiosk, voice-over-IP (VoIP), and system management implementations. Robert has held senior management roles at MGM/UA, Nestle, A&M Records, Koo Koo Roo, and others. In his current role as CIO for Virgin’s North America Megastores, Robert successfully championed and architected the company’s cultural shift to real-time reporting via implementation of an enterprise data warehouse that details customer traffic, sales and inventory information. He also architected the company’s highly regarded “digital preview stations”, including the world’s largest single store implementation in Times Square. Robert is a member of the National Retail Federation CIO Council and RIS News, Kiosk.Com and Microsoft Retail Advisory Boards. Steve Fortune Steve Fortune, Information Management Director, BP America Inc.
Steve Fortune currently holds the position of Information Management Director for the BP Gulf of Mexico Strategic Performance Unit. Steve is a Chemical Engineer with 16 years of experience in project and operational roles within the BP Group. He started his career in the UK with BP Chemicals working in operations, providing manufacturing support for the Acetyls business. After moving through a number of operations and project positions, Steve joined the E&P Segment to take the lead on developing a new BP proprietary Gas to Liquids technology, converting Natural Gas to Synthetic Fuels. During this time he moved through the roles of Engineering Manager, Commissioning Manager, and then the Asset Team Leader for the operation of the GTL business, working both in Houston and Alaska. Steve moved to his current position as Information Management Director in November 2003 and has responsibility for all Information Management related projects and the Field of the Future distinctive technology program in the Gulf of Mexico.

Ronald H. FryerRonald H. Fryer, Business Intelligence Software Specialist, IBM
Ron Fryer is an Information Management Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Specialist with IBM. Mr. Fryer has over 20 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence, including 18 years with major data warehousing vendors. His articles on data warehousing have been published in numerous magazines and journals, including American Banker and the Enterprise Systems Journal. He has been published in the IEEE Data Engineering Journal on parallel database architectures, and is a contributing author to the books IBM Data Warehousing (Indianapolis: Wiley & Sons, 2003) and Understanding Relational Database Management Systems (McGraw-Hill, New York, 1997). Mr. Fryer holds eight DB2 Technical Certifications from IBM, including two advanced technical expert certifications.

Andy Grinberg, Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence, Countrywide
For the last 6 years, Andy Grinberg has been responsible for building Business Intelligence solutions for the fastest growing components of Countrywide Financial Corporation, a leading diversified financial services company and America's #1 home loan lender*. Incredible business growth of the banking and insurance units combined with availability and rapid deployment of BI tools created a very dynamic environment. The main challenge during these years was to keep the focus on the “business” component of business intelligence and continue providing solutions for sales, marketing, operations, finance, and compliance. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Grinberg managed systems development and integration for the Insurance segment of Countrywide. Before joining Countrywide, Mr. Grinberg held IT management and staff positions in a variety of industries including Brokerage Services (Quotron Systems), Entertainment (CBS, New Line Cinema), Transportation (Arco, Rockwell International), delivering a wide array of information systems solutions. He holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Information and Computer Science from Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics, and Information Science.

Karen Heath Karen Heath, Director, Business Information Optimization, Hewlett-Packard
Karen Heath has recently joined HP's new Business Information Optimization group, where she is responsible for crafting custom data warehousing business solutions. She came to HP via Knightsbridge Consulting, where she supported development of strategic programs for data quality, data governance, master data management (MDM), customer data integration (CDI), and audit/balance/control (ABC). She has more than 25 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies in such diverse industries as financial services, health and life sciences, retail and telecommunications.

Rob Hillard Rob Hilliard, Vice President, Digital Operations, Reader's Digest
Rob has just been promoted to Vice President - Digital Operations where he will be responsible for the implementation and support of Internet and digital activities for all Reader's Digest properties. His most recent position was VP - Customer Technologies where he lead the implementation of a new Marketing System (MSR) allowing Reader's Digest to eliminate an expensive 35-year-old legacy database and a variety of costly homegrown software tools for all customer and prospect interactions. The resulting Business Intelligence solution significantly cut operating costs, while improving the flexibility, reliability and ease of use. This effort was chronicled in a Baseline Magazine Article which is available here.

Prior to Reader's Digest, Rob was an Associate Partner at Andersen Consulting (CKA Accenture) and a Software Specialist with the Digital Equipment Corporation.

George L. Higgins III George L. Higgins III, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs, Maine Medical Center
Dr. Higgins has spent his entire professional career at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, one of northern New England’s major teaching institutions. For many years, he chaired the Department of Emergency Medicine, where he was privileged to advance the academic mission of the department and to establish a successful training program in Emergency Medicine. His career path eventually provided him with attractive administrative opportunities, initially as the Associate Vice President of Performance Improvement and most recently as the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs for the institution. He holds academic appointments within the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine.

In his current position, Dr. Higgins is involved with a number of strategic clinical, educational and research activities. One of his most recent interests involves developing creative ways of leveraging medical technology to drive a culture of safe patient and family centered care at his institution.

Kirk Hewitt Kirk Hewitt, Vice President Reporting and Financial Systems, Valero Energy Corporation
Kirk Hewitt is the Vice President of Reporting and Financial Systems at Valero Energy Corporation and has been with the company for 28 years. In his current position in San Antonio Texas, Kirk provides strategy and direction for the areas of Business Intelligence, Financial Systems, I/T Governance including Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives and I/S Analytics. In 1998, Kirk, a certified accountant, transitioned to Information Services from Accounting where he was the Consolidations Manager. Prior to that, he managed the Corporate Reporting and Accounting Operations departments in the California and Toronto offices.

Calvin C. Johnson Calvin C. Johnson, Ph.D., Director of Research and Evaluation, Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, District of Columbia
Dr. Johnson, Director of the Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) at the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia (CSOSA), is a community crime prevention, community policing, and community corrections evaluation specialist.

While serving as the director for ORE, Dr. Johnson is responsible for designing program evaluation methodology to include implementation management; data collection instruments; collection protocol; and database construction. As the point of contact for the agency’s research needs, Dr. Johnson leads his research staff in the preparation of quantitative and qualitative analyses of supervision data, to include treatment and supervision interventions, diagnostic screening and assessment data, and transactional data contained within internal case management information systems.

Prior to joining CSOSA, he was the Senior Research Administrator in the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerry Lee Center of Criminology and the Fels Center of Government. While at the Jerry Lee Center/Fels, he was assigned to the Executive Office of the Mayor of the District of Columbia (EOM) where he was appointed as Research Director in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice (DMPSJ). His role in EOM/DMPSJ was to work with all the criminal justice agencies (to include the Emergency Management Agency) to build research and performance measurement capacities. Additionally, he provided executive-level decision making support on issues regarding policing initiatives, fire and emergency medical responses, jail crowding, offender reentry, and youth violence prevention.

Julia King Julia King, Executive Editor, Events and National Correspondent, Computerworld
Julia King is an award-winning business and technology journalist with more than 20 years experience covering a wide range of beats, from technology management and labor issues to electronic commerce, IT return on investment issues and offshore outsourcing. Ms. King was the founding executive editor of the award-winning ComputerworldROI magazine and spearheaded Computerworld's coverage of information economics. Prior to joining Computerworld in 1994, Ms. King worked for nearly a decade as a reporter and writer for national business and technology magazines. She also worked for five years as a daily newspaper reporter and later, as a features writer and editor. Her IT reporting has earned her several awards form the American Society of Business Press Editors and she is a frequent presenter and panel moderator at industry conferences. Jim Livingston Jim Livingston, Director of IT infrastructure, University of Utah Health Care
Jim has a 21 year career in information technology, which includes four years in the banking industry and 17 years in the healthcare industry. The early part of Jim’s career was focused on software engineering, but over the past 14 years has been focused on healthcare data and data warehousing.

In Jim’s role as Director of IT Infrastructure he is responsible for the infrastructure components of the organization including network, data center, mass storage and servers. As Director of Data Resource Center, Jim is responsible for the implementation of a mature enterprise data warehouse and associated business intelligence tools, and has grown the data warehouse over the past 14 years to become a gold mine of data and tools to support our research, patient care, education, finance and operational missions. University of Utah Healthcare’s data warehouse has been broadly recognized for being a unique resource for clinical research.

Thornton May Thornton May, Futurist & Computerworld Columnist
Thornton May is a respected and well-connected practitioner of the science of man [a.k.a. - anthropology] specializing in tribal behaviors associated with technology selection and use. His insights are simultaneously humorous, brutal and frequently life-changing. He tickles our funny bone while simultaneously going for the behavioral jugular. He believes organizations and individuals are just now approaching a critical tipping point in their relationship to technology.

Thornton believes the best days for technology and technologists lie in our future. He refuses to submit to the vitality-sucking mind set that organizations are exhausted by big visions and grand dreams.

Matthew Meinert Matthew Meinert, Group Chief, Business Systems and Information Technology Division,U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command, Acquisition Center
Matthew Meinert is the Chief of the Business Systems and Information Technology Division at the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command, Acquisition Center, Ft. Monmouth, NJ. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. He received his BA degree in 1983 from Wheeling Jesuit University. After declining to become a Jesuit he was recruited by the U.S. Army Materiel Command Contracting Intern Program and has been with the Army since. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Management Staff College and serves on numerous Chief Information Officer (CIO) panels and boards. From 1983 to 1996 he gained a wide range of contracting experience working on everything from construction contracts to negotiating multi-billion dollar procurements for major weapon systems. He has worked with the Army’s Quick Reaction Team and Special Forces in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Since 1996 Mr. Meinert has been the CIO for the Acquisition Center and has developed and fielded software applications supporting the Center’s paperless contracting initiatives, records management, SAP enterprise, and Business Intelligence (BI) mission. He is one of the Federal Government’s leading proponents for Business Intelligence and is frequently invited to speak or demonstrate how BI can be used by Federal agencies to meet their public and congressional oversight responsibilities. Mr. Meinert’s current BI application has enabled the Acquisition Center to administer over 17,000 active contracts valued at over $60 Billion for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Reconnaissance equipment used by our warfighters in the Global war on terror.

Ron Milton Ron Milton, Executive Vice President, Computerworld
Ron manages the events business, strategic alliances and awards programs for IT executive titles and IT management in storage networking, mobile and wireless, infrastructure/data center, business intelligence and green IT market sectors. Milton leads the team responsible for creating content, sponsor sales, operations, marketing and audience development for all of Computerworld's events, such as brands like Premier 100 IT Leaders®, Storage Networking World®, Mobile & Wireless World®, Infrastructure Management World®, Business Intelligence Perspectives®, Green IT Symposium® and 30-40 IT Executive Summits and Executive Roundtables per year. He is also responsible for the same businesses at InfoWorld® and the Computerworld Honors Program®.

He has 25 years of experience in information technology, serving in both vendor and information services management positions. Before his current role at IDG, Ron was Senior Vice President of CXO Media and General Manager of CIO Magazine's Executive Program Division. Prior to joining Computerworld in 1999, he was President and CEO of IDG's Internet Commerce (ICE) business unit, which he founded in 1996 as a start-up business, and was a pioneer in using e-commerce systems and web marketing. He was a 1996 recipient of the coveted IDG Chairman's Award for the most successful start-up business globally. Before joining IDG, Milton spent five years as Vice President/Partner of GLA computer Systems, a software developer and channel integrator with market share leadership in wholesale travel solutions. Prior to GLA, he also held a variety of management positions in channel management, field sales and marketing at Honeywell Information Systems and Bull HN. He holds degrees from Concordia University and Sir George Williams University.

Mark Moorman Mark Moorman, Technology Strategist, Office of the Chief Technology Officer, SAS
Mark Moorman is an expert on the data integration and data modeling issues that often burden IT executives. As Advisor to the Office of the CTO, which acts as a technical resource and advisor in peer-to-peer discussions with executives in IT organizations, Mark provides leadership and insight with regard to data and application integration at the enterprise level. In support of the company’s mission to provide integrated solutions for wide-ranging business applications on a single platform, SAS®9, Mark contributes thought leadership, industry expertise and best practices to inform customer implementations.

In his former role as Vice President of SAS’ Financial Services Practice, Mark Moorman led a team responsible for delivering software solutions that address the critical needs of banks (retail and commercial) and asset management firms (retail and institutional), as well as card services, wealth management and insurance companies. These needs range from combating fraud and money laundering to managing enterprise risk and improving marketing efforts.

Previously, Moorman was a software development manager of warehouse solutions, where he oversaw a team that developed extraction transformation and loading routines to build data warehouse solutions from packaged applications like SAP, Oracle Apps, Siebel and more. A key campaign of the team was designing an integrated architecture to help facilitate the ease of deployment and integration between solutions.

Moorman joined SAS in 1987 as management information services supervisor of operations. Prior to that, he worked in MIS at Durham Life Insurance.

Moorman holds a bachelor of the arts degree in English from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Ron Paulus Ronald Paulus, MD, MBA, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Geisinger Health System
Dr. Paulus is Geisinger's Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, responsible for ensuring system-wide innovation at Geisinger Health System, including the evaluation, deployment and commercialization of new technologies and approaches that transform clinical processes and drive fundamental gains in quality and efficiency. Additionally, he is charged with developing new models of care, including novel pay-for-performance and patient engagement approaches that support the five-year vision of Geisinger Quality - Striving for Perfection. As part of innovation, Dr. Paulus is globally responsible for Geisinger Ventures, the new business venture and intellectual property commercialization function organized to leverage health services, research and technology innovations in the broader market. Prior to joining Geisinger Health System, Dr. Paulus was Chief Healthcare Officer for Quovadx, Inc., (NASDAQ: QVDX) where he was responsible for healthcare strategy for this software and services company with more than 450 employees and 10,000 customers worldwide. Prior to its acquisition by Quovadx in September 2003, Dr. Paulus was President and CEO of CareScience, Inc., a NASDAQ company. Sam Peterson, Senior Vice President, Technology, is responsible for IT infrastructure, development and website design at Overstock. Sam served as the Vice President, Software Development from early 2005, and was appointed as Director, Network and Systems Engineering in 2003, where he managed several development teams. During that time, he directed the technology team that built the Overstock.com Auctions website. Prior to joining Overstock in 1999, Sam was involved in creating several start-up internet ventures, including Fitnesoft, Inc.

Dr. Guido Sacchi serves as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategies, of CompuCredit, an information and technology driven company that offers general-purpose credit cards and a comprehensive suite of financial services.

At CompuCredit, Guido’s responsibilities include setting and executing the company’ IT strategies, delivering business value from technology, and running the company’s worldwide IT operations. Guido has an exceptional track record in improving business performance through the design and execution of IT strategies and programs. He specializes in leveraging technology to drive growth and performance improvements. At CompuCredit, Guido has enabled the business to deliver unprecedented results through the execution of acquisitions, technology architectures, and IT solutions.

Mark R. Sauvageau Mark R. Sauvageau, Acting Director, Financial Management Office, US Army Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center
Mark R. Sauvageau is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps; Level 3 certified in Financial Management and Program Management; and, received an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is currently serving as the Acting Director of the Financial Management Office, US Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC). His responsibilities include all aspects of Resource Management for ARDEC which is at the scientific cutting-edge in the advancement of armaments, technology exploration and innovation. Previously, he served as the Acting Deputy Chief of Staff for Resource Management and was responsible for launching the Resource Management Office for the newly formed Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) which manages the Conventional Munitions for the Warfighter, International Partners and other Customers. In his 25 year career, Mr. Sauvageau has implemented various automated applications including the Cognos tool set and additional planning and budgeting applications. He has been instrumental in bringing ARDEC’s financial arena into the 21st century by applying standardized business processes across the Competency through the application of Six Sigma techniques. Cross-functional teaming, Voice of the Customer and Streamlining Requirements Generation are some of Mr. Sauvageau’s more highly emphasized techniques instituted at ARDEC. He continues to plan, direct, and evaluate the work accomplishments of an agile and flexible 200 employee organization and to ensure a systematic approach to achieve assigned objectives.

Michael Scarbrough Michael Scarbrough, VP-IT Senior Audit Manager, Wells Fargo Bank
Michael J Scarbrough currently works as VP-Sr. IT Audit Manager for Wells Fargo Audit & Security in Phoenix, AZ managing the Data Analysis Support Team and responsible for the Business Intelligence audit and risk domain within Wells Fargo (WF). He and his staff have built a risk/control audit framework around business intelligence that is aligned with COBIT. He also leads one of the premier data analysis units, internationally recognized for its Continuous Audit Process methodology. Further, he worked with WF audit management to establish an integrated audit methodology that incorporates processes, systems, financial, operations, and compliance risk/control identification, data analysis, and testing into a single audit/review.

His experience includes Manager of the IT Audit, Security Administration, & Business Continuity Planning functions at FINOVA, a commercial lending & leasing company, an Audit Officer/Supervisor in the Corporate & Institutional Banking Unit for First National Bank of Chicago (now Bank One), a Data Center Manager for Reuters Development and Operations Environment, a Systems Administrator & Data Analyst for AT&T Bell Labs Microelectronics and Speech Recognition Units, and a Parallel Computer Programmer for Argonne National Laboratory (EBR-II Nuclear Reactor).

Ed Scully Ed Scully, Business Intelligence Manager, JDSU
Ed has over 22 years of IT experience and has held several BI leadership roles. For the past seven years, Ed has served as Senior Manager of the Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse group for JDSU. Over this time he and his team have implemented an enterprise data warehouse consisting of 140 data marts covering all functional areas of the business. This included the implementation of analytic applications from Hyperion, which encompass multi-dimensional analysis, end-user query reporting, data mining, dashboard and planning tools.

Clay StanleyClay Stanley, Senior Director of Information Management and Delivery, PayPal, Inc.
Clay Stanley is senior director of information management and delivery (IMD) for PayPal and brings more than 20 years experience in the technology industry to the position. In his current role, Stanley oversees several of PayPal’s mission-critical applications in the enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence systems. He and his group are responsible for developing, deploying and supporting the technology behind PayPal’s data acquisition services and the company’s 24x7 operations.

Before joining PayPal, Stanley was at Gateway Computers where he led 75 software professionals in multimillion dollar implementations of JDE OneWorld and Siebel software.

Previously, Stanley served as the manager of database systems with the United States Air Force where he led a large-scale modernization project. Earlier in his career, Stanley worked as a software developer with UPS and as an operations intelligence specialist with the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England.

Stanley holds a master’s in computer resource management from Webster University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Ohio State University.

James Swartz James Swartz, Chief Information Officer, Sybase, Inc.
As chief information officer, Mr. Swartz is responsible for making sure all of the Sybase systems worldwide are working 24x7. He directs the activities of the global information technology resources including data centers, applications development and telecommunications. These IT operations give business support to North and South America, Europe and Asia. He is actively implementing our technology globally such as the Sybase Enterprise Portal.

Mr. Swartz is a veteran of SRI International and Science Applications International Corporate( SAIC). At SRI he held the position of chief information officer directing the development of an ERP system, intranet applications, a new communications infrastructure and a data center. While at SAIC he was in charge of the direction and maintenance of corporate information systems development, management and training of information technology, and information system planning.

He earned a BA in Political Science from Muskingum College and attended graduate school studying Russian Linguistics at Ohio State University.

Spencer Taft Spencer Taft, Business Intelligence Group Manager, Cox Enterprises, Inc.
Spencer Taft is the Business Intelligence Group Manager at Cox Enterprises, Inc. In his four years at Cox, he has helped deliver dashboard and data warehouse related initiatives for divisional customers (Cox Radio, Cox TV, Cox Media, and Manheim) and corporate customers (Corporate Finance, Tax, Risk Management, Human Resources, and IT).

In 2003, Spencer helped lead and execute the redesign of the Cox Corporate Accounting Dashboard. Soon after that he helped make a CFO’s idea become a reality with the launch of the first digital dashboard for Cox Radio, using Hyperion Essbase and Analyzer. Spencer led the planning phase and contributed to project execution, coordination of data feeds, UI development, and collaboration with CXR.

Prior to Cox, Spencer spent 8 years in the Internet services industry. His roles there were in the areas of Application Development, Business Development, and Client Management. Spencer gained a strong understanding of the client engagement process and what it takes to plan and deliver e-business solutions successfully. During his service he worked with HP, BellSouth, The Golf Channel, Turner and others.

Mr. Taft received his education at Vanderbilt University where he received a B.A. in Psychology and he completed post-graduate financial courses at Wake Forest’s Babcock Graduate School of Management.

Joe Taylor Joe Taylor, Vice President, Enterprise Business Process, Manage Healthcare Delivery, Health Care Service Corporation
In 2004, Joe Taylor joined Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) as the Vice President of Enterprise Business Process for Manage Health Care Delivery. He is responsible for developing and implementing the future healthcare vision. As part of that role, Joe prepares, recommends, and presents reengineering/process improvements. Joe also prioritizes all of the Managed Healthcare Delivery initiatives within the organization. Joe leads the enterprise Integrated Total Health Management initiative and serves on the Availity Care Profile Leadership Team.

Joe came to HCSC from Mercer Human Resource Consulting, where he was a principal in the Health and Group practice. For 12 years, he worked with national clients developing strategic and innovative solutions to client's business, health care and human resources needs.

Joe received his bachelor's degree in mathematics and mathematic education 7-12 from Syracuse University. He holds the Health Insurance Associate (HIA) designation and the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation. Joe also received the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a former board member for the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists. Joe was an instructor at Southern Methodist University in benefits-related courses and has written several health care related articles. He is a frequent speaker on National Healthcare issues and Health Information Technology.

Don TennantDon Tennant, Vice President and Editor in Chief, Computerworld
As Editor in Chief, a position he assumed in August 2004, Don is responsible for Computerworld’s editorial operations.

Prior to joining Computerworld in 2000, he spent eight years as Editor in Chief of the Hong Kong edition of Computerworld.

Don was recently named the winner of the prestigious Timothy White Award from American Business Media, which recognizes a journalist whose work demonstrates integrity, courage and passion.

Don is also a recipient of the prestigious Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award for editorial excellence in news coverage. His weekly editorial column won the 2006 national gold awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors and from Trade, Association and Business Publications International.  

Under Don’s leadership, Computerworld has won dozens of ASBPE awards, including Magazine of the Year in 2004 and 2006.

Don has also served in the U.S. government's intelligence community, including seven years with the National Security Agency.   He holds a B.S. in Language degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Peter Vanderlee Peter Vanderlee, Executive Vice President, CopperKey
Peter Vanderlee leads the strategic marketing and investor relations function at CopperKey and has more than 30 years of experience in the publishing and information technology industry. He has held senior marketing and business development positions with a number of high-growth, advanced technology companies, including BCB Voice Systems Inc. ("BCB"), a company listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange.

Peter guided BCB as President, and under his direction, BCB increased revenue from CDN$1.7 million to $7.1 million and gross profit from $448,000 to $4.8 million while attracting more than $15 million in equity financing.

Rebecca Wettemann Rebecca Wettemann, Vice President, Research, Nucleus Research Incorporated
Rebecca Wettemann is a founding partner of Nucleus Research where she is responsible for development and execution of Nucleus's industry-leading investigative research approach. Ms. Wettemann has written and presented extensively on the topics of return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO), collaborative and knowledge technologies, customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise applications, analytics, and the business impact of technology.

She is the author of numerous studies analyzing the impact and adoption of technology, including "Assessing the Real ROI from Siebel," "Benchmarking: On-demand Solutions," and "Oracle and Siebel - Who's ready for small and medium-sized Businesses?" She was responsible for the creation of Nucleus Research's "Real ROI Report" and "Guidebook" series that leverage Nucleus's in-depth investigative approach to provide data and recommendations for maximizing value from a technology.

Often quoted by the business and technology press, Ms. Wettemann is a frequent speaker at user and industry events and vendor-specific user events for companies including Microsoft, SPSS, Cognos, RightNow, UGS, and Oracle.

Before joining Nucleus, Ms. Wettemann was the Program Manager for European Collaborative Technologies at International Data Corporation where she managed research products tracking the European messaging, collaboration, knowledge management, and document and content management markets. She also served as the European expert for IDC's industry-leading ROI consulting practice.

Prior to IDC, she worked as a consultant for the International Telecommunication Union and the United States Information Agency, managing international research projects on digital communications and the economic impact of changing international telecommunications law and technology.

Ms. Wettemann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Oklahoma State University and a Masters of Law and Diplomacy degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Stephen Wetzel is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Maricopa County. Stephen has over 20 years of experience in a broad range of information technology areas, in both public and private sectors. He specializes in transforming business and speeding innovation through the application of information technology. His specific areas of interest include business intelligence systems, information security and global network infrastructure. Stephen has degrees from Phoenix College and Northern Arizona University, and is currently completing an advance degree in Information Systems Engineering.
